I also went down to sample what my apartment complex's fitness center has to offer. Verdict: It sucks. Almost all of the machines do not work, and none of them have the monitors I need on them. Like a heartrate monitor or a timer....or anything. Also the elliptical machine (the only one that would turn ON) was hard to run on. It felt like it hadn't been oiled in a while. It popped my knee out. But even with that I did 30 minutes and a mile on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the elliptical before it hurt me. Exercise, hooray!

Wow Karen! Good for you. Your blog makes me feel good and motivates me too. I just started on a weight loss goal too, and it's sooooo hard to get started and to stick with it. Reading your blog makes me feel like at least someone else I know is doing it too. The good thing is once you've been doing it for a few weeks, it gets easier and easier. Anyway lady, I wish you the BEST of luck! Losing weight is extremely difficult but once you start seeing results, it makes you feel like a million bucks!
